A Winter Scene with Clarity Stamps.

I've been very lazy and not been keeping my blog updated. Think I may have got a bit blog and crafted out!?  Well, that has to be my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Don't have another. Hope I'm forgiven.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas, I went to my son's in Leeds this year. It's the first time he's cooked for us all, it was lovely. He even had a time schedule, it went like clockwork. Well done son.

So down to business. These cards were inspired by the fabulous Barbara Gray. I went to the NEC in November and spent quite a lot on Clarity stamps. The ones I really wanted were the letters and numbers.They are so versatile. I also bought a winter scene stamp, which is what I used for these
cards.

I hadn't done this style of card before, I've watched Barbara do similar ones so often though, so I decided to have a try. I used supersmooth card and Versafine ink for the main image and letters. Some masks for the letters and a bit of shading and I think it makes a very atmospheric scene.

Once I had the recipe down, I decided to make several. I just varied the colour of the mats and ribbon and changed the wording. The snowflakes and poinsettia are made with spellbinders dies, just to add a bit of bling. Oh, and everything was glittered with glamour dust, well they are Christmas cards, but since when do we crafters need an excuse to use glitter.

Wedding place cards and wine bottle labels with Craftartist2 professional.

Hi guys,

Hope you're all well. Thought I'd share some wedding place cards and wine bottle labels with you, that I made for my nieces friend.They were designed using Craftartist2 Professional, and I must say, I'm liking this programme, a lot.

There's not a lot to say, other than I used the template within CA2, and the digikits I used were 'Butterfly elegance' and 'Daydream.

I didn't do the wine labels that have to be stuck onto the bottles, I think these that sit on the bottle neck are much more attractive.

I really love the new sticker feature in CA2, the image and the text really looked like they were jumping off  the page.

The bride didn't want the back of the place card to be blank, so I added a quote, and of course did a bit of advertising while I was at it. You never know, I made 60, so a few people may pop accross to my blog.

Happy Halloween with Elmhurst Hollow Haunted House and SVGcuts.

First I'd like to say hi to PatK, my new follower. Welcome Pat.

Well, I've been playing (faffing) again. Nearly all the challenge blogs are doing 'Halloween' as the chosen theme, so I thought I'd do something a little different.

I've had this kit for a while but never got round to using it. It's called 'Elmhurst Hollow' and it's from SVGCuts.com. It's an SVG file to use with my cricut, along with the sure-cuts-a-lot software.

So here it is. Isn't it cool. This picture is taken with the flash, to show the detail.

This one is without, so that the lights show up through the windows. Bit more atmospheric, don't ya think? I used core'dinations card in black and grey for the main body of the haunted house, the chimney and rails. Five 12x12 sheets in all, so not expensive to make.

The backing papers for the roof and plank detail are from craftartist and printed onto 220gsm supersmooth card. The bats are made from two identical pieces with a piece of wire sandwiched in the middle, then glittered before being suspended from the roof. The cobweb on the front of the house was drawn on with a quickie glue pen, then dusted with glamour dust.

Behind all the windows and eyes is yellow vellum. Unfortunately the eyes don't show up very well in the photo, but in the dark they look great.

To the rear of the house are the openings to place the candles, not real ones of course. These candles came from a local discount shop and were £1-99 for four. Can't grumble at that, eh? They even blow out!!!!! 

Anyway, hope you like it, I LOVE it. Showed it to my sis and she wants one now.
